Problem with Linksys Wireless PCI adapter

Hi,

We have around 100 Aruba AP-61 in our office. Employees are using both laptop and desktops. We have observed from the very begnning that, the destop users are facing slow speed and connectivity compared to the laptop users. All the desktops are having Linksys Wireless-G PCI adapters (WMP-54).

Please suggest us should we change to a new brand/model to get rid of this problem.

Amobin,

I will put it out to the community to suggest a better card. The latest drivers for that card are from 2005, which means that Linksys/Cisco has abandoned it, and doesn't plan to make any further improvements on it. Since compatability and performance issues routinely arise with consumer cards like this, I would not purchase it any more. With that being said, ensuring that the clients do not share a broadcast domain with wired computers and/or controlling broadcasts with your Aruba controller using broadcast filter at the Virtual AP level would be your best bet at this time.
