This issue might be noticed when upgrading from 6.3.x / 6.4.x version to 6.5.0 version using the Cluster Upgrade Tool Version 2.

Solution

If this error is seen, please check if the cluster password has any special characters. If yes, please set it to a alphanumeric password.

Uninstall the Cluster Upgrade Tool (Please contact ClearPass TAC team, as this requires SSH access to ClearPass using arubasupport credentials.)

Download and install the Cluster Upgrade Tool again.

Start the upgrade using the Cluster Upgrade Tool version 2.

Once the upgrade is complete, you may update the cluster password as per your requirement.
