Does ClearPass need access to Social Sites when doing Social Login

Aruba Employee
Q:

Does ClearPass need access to social websites when implementing network login using social networking credentials like Facebook, Google, LinkedIn,Twitter etc.

A:

ClearPass needs access to the social networking sites when you try to implement social logins on ClearPass. Clearpass interacts with the API of the respective social networking site using the key or client secret of the respective social site for which it needs access to the respective location. For example when users try to use their Facebook credentials to login to the guest network then Clearpass interacts with graph.facebook.com and api.facebook.com.

So we need to make sure that not only the users are allowed access to the social websites but also ClearPass needs to be allowed access to the social websites when implementing social logins with ClearPass.
