How do I add/edit the default roles present for Guest login on CPPM/CPG

Aruba Employee

This article talks about adding a role to the Guest registration page.

Environment :This article works best on 6.2 version of CPPM.

Question: How do I add more roles to the page below. By default it has only three roles names : Contractor, guest and Employee. I would want a new role with the name of my SSID.

How do we add a new Role?

Login to CPPM and navigate to "Configuration » Identity » Roles".

Click on "Add Roles" and add a new role with a general name ( can be any name based on our requirement).

Similarly we can create different roles with different names.

Now, navigate to "Configuration » Identity » Role Mappings" and do a quick search applying the filter as"Guest" as shown below.

Edit the Guest role mapping and the Rules as shown below.

Here Other-Role-1 and Other-Role-2 are custom roles created by us. Save this Role mapping policy.

We can create Enforcement profiles based on the Role mapping we just created and add it to out Guest authentication service.

Now login to CPG and navigate to " Home » Configuration » Fields"

Edit the "Role_id" field and make changes as shown below.

Hit Save changes.

Navigate to " Home » Configuration » Guest Self-Registration" and edit the guest self registration profile.

Click on the "Form" section of register page.

If you do not want guests to get the liberty of choosing the Role, we can disable the "Role_id" field under " Home » Configuration » Forms & Views"
