Q:
How do we increase the Number of AD authentication process in ClearPass and when is it required
A:
By default, ClearPass establishes one winbind connection to the Active Directory. If this process becomes busy in case of slow response from AD, then the winbind request gets queued up and the domain service stops.
To overcome this we have an option to increase the number of winbind connection to AD in ClearPass. If request rate increases and child 1 process is busy when a new request comes, another one will be spawned and so on.
Navigate to Administration >> Server Manager >> Server Configuration and Click on the server and Select RADIUS server under Service parameters and change the setting as below
This setting need to be configured on each server in the cluster if required.
NOTE: This should only be changed in coordination with Aruba TAC.
