Is there a way to enable a Subscriber that is showing up as “Disabled” under Cluster Sync status?

Question : Is there a way to enable a Subscriber that is showing up as “Disabled” under Cluster Sync status?

Environment Information : In a Clearpass Cluster with one or more Subscribers present

Symptoms : On the Publisher, it will be displayed as "out of sync" and "Cluster Sync Disabled".

Cause : If the Subscriber lost sync with Publisher for more than a day then the node will be marked as Disabled in the Cluster Sync Status.

Resolution :

The only way to fix this is to drop the Subscriber from the cluster and rejoin it back to cluster.

In case if we are failing to drop the disabled Subscriber from the cluster, please try to force drop the node on the subscriber using the below command:

Command Syntax:

# cluster drop-subscriber -f

If the disabled subscriber is still failing to drop off from the cluster even after force drop, then please do a cluster reset database on this subscriber node and join it back to the cluster again.

Command Syntax:

# cluster reset-database

The above command will resets the local database and erases all the configuration. Once the node is successfully joined to the cluster, it will get the configuration from the publisher.
