Is this a bad piece of hardware or does it just need a software update? It receives an IP and is pointing to the IP of the controller.

Re: AP 105 wifi will not work

Seth,
We would need some more information in order to figure out what is going on here.

1. What is the code version of the controller?
2. Is this AP105 being provisioned as a Remote AP or a Campus AP?
3. Is CPSEC enabled on the controller?
4. Do you see this AP in the "show ap database" output? If yes, then please post the output.

Please open a TAC case so you can get it RMA'd. It looks like a hardware issue based on that "unable to attach hardware" message.

Re: AP 105 wifi will not work

Please post the following output
show ap-group default
---- Check the name of the AP system-profile under the group information
show ap system profile

I would like to check if the system profile has an LMS IP set which points to a different controller.

Also, when you reboot the AP, do you see it coming up on this controller for couple of minutes and then going down again?

Please execute the following steps to get more information
1. reboot the AP
2. Check the IP address of the AP
3. On the controller run the following command every 10-15 seconds to check the traffic sent and received from the AP
show datapath session table | include

Thanks,

Re: AP 105 wifi will not work

We do see the datapath session from the AP IP address, so it may not be a hardware issue. From the session table, it looks like the controller is not able to reach the AP IP address. Can you try to ping AP105 IP address from the controller?

Thanks,

Re: AP 105 wifi will not work

The lines:

00 00 168c 0029 00002 01 10000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 Net: eth0 Radio: ar922x#0

should have two radios, but only one is recognized. Rma.

The "hardware issue" is NOT that it is unable to connect to the controller. It is that it is not recognizing one of its radios that it needs to transmit with.
