AP 175 - Static Settings

We use static settings for our APs on campus for IP, name and group. Our new AP175s are using a different master and local running 6.1 since we are only running 3.4 for the rest of campus. I tried setting controllerip and masterip to the 6.1 ones, but the APs keep trying to join the 3.4 controllers out there. How do I force it otherwise?

Re: AP 175 - Static Settings

If you are using the console cable, you should use these parameters:

setenv master
setenv serverip
save

Yes, we use those and it still doesn't register with the controllers configured??

Re: AP 175 - Static Settings

In the controller that you are pointing to, does the AP-Group have an LMS-IP that points to the old controller by chance? That could be redirecting the AP to the old controller. Also, do a "printenv" on the console to see all the variables that you have configured.

Re: AP 175 - Static Settings

Nevermind - we accidently put the serverip as the local controller and not the master. It is working now. Thanks so much for your help!
