Ap 105

Hi,
I am using an AP 105 and every light is green except the enet, it is amber. I bring the AP back to the switch with the same patch cord and same port and it is Green like it is supposed to be. what gives?

Ap 105

Amber on the enet port means it is only connecting at 100Mbps, not 1Gig (Green). If it is a 1G switch port with PoE or 1G switch port with a 1G PoE injector, then you probably have a wiring problem.

Re: Ap 105

You can try to force speed and duplex on the switch, to verify if there is a problem with autonegotiation, or if it's a wire problem.

Re: Ap 105

If you statically set the speed and duplex on the switch, the AP will not autonegotiate, but set itself to 10/half. You might not want to do that. My vote is for the wiring problem.

Ap 105

You know, I've never had that problem with an S3500. Is it a Cisco switch?
Thanks,
