IAP-105 Static IP Address

I am trying to apply a static IP-address to an IAP-105 access point for the purpose of a WLAN Site Survey. I initially setup the access point using a switch with DHCP enabled and manage the IAP via the web GUI. After I have configured the static address and reboot the IAP and connect it to a power injector the IAP not not fully boot and the console output shows "Ethernet Uplink not active".

Please advise?

Basically, I want to be able to power the IAP via a portable battery using PoE and manage the IAP's radio settings using a laptop to perform a site survey.

Thanks,

Re: IAP-105 Static IP Address

You probably cannot do that, because in addition to be powered, the link needs to be up for the IAP to work.

Re: IAP-105 Static IP Address

i tried to do a similar thing myself and what i ended up doing was taking another laptop or small switch with me and plugging the IAP into that. once the ethernet link is up the AP will come up and broadcast so you can do the survey.
