IAP105 radios

Hi,

The AP105 data sheet has the following statement:

"The 105 series of APs features two dual-band 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz radios"

So in an instant install where by both bands are enabled, is one radio dedicated to 2.4 and one dedicated to 5Ghz?

and leading on from this if you disable the 2.4 band do both radios then work on the 5Ghz range?

Any info appreciated,

Dave

Re: IAP105 radios

Yes there are two radios.

Under normal operation one radio will be 2.4 and one will be 5

If you disable 2.4, then only ONE radio remains active

Is there a use case for your questions?  We have many RF related features called ARM which you may be interested in.

Re: IAP105 radios

The AP-105 and IAP-105 have two radios.   One can operate on 2.4 GHz and one on 5 GHz .  If you disable 2.4 GHz , you then have one radio on 5 GHz  running.  You cannot turn both radios on one band.

Re: IAP105 radios

Interesting, so why does the info say "The 105 series of APs features two dual-band 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz radios" surely it should say 2 radios, one 5ghz and one 2.4 radio ? this is infact a very misleading statement?

Re: IAP105 radios

Dave - each radio in the 105 is capable of being 2.4 or 5 however they are software programmed to operate as indicated above.

Re: IAP105 radios

So even though they are Dual band, they will never be anything other than radio0 = 5ghz an radio1 = 2.4ghz ? you must agree the text is misleeding, it seems irrelivant information to include.
