Aruba 800 DNS via CLI

Can anyone tell me how to change the DNS settings of my 800 controller via the CLI? We're handing out DNS via internal (controller based) DHCP, but for some reason when we change the address via the Web UI it doesn't stick. I recall having this problem once before - years ago - and changing it at the command line was the only way to make it stick.

thank you,

Re: Aruba 800 DNS via CLI

Do you mean the DHCP options. After you make the change, the next screen allows you to click on apply. That is what makes the change.

Yes, I need to set the DNS address that's assigned via DHCP to my wireless clients.

But I need to make the change through the command line, not the web interface. For some reason, when I do it through the webui the change doesn't stick. Command line works (if I remember correctly from my initial setup several years ago). I just can't remember/figure out how to do it.

Re: Aruba 800 DNS via CLI

First find out which pool you are dealing with:

(Aruba3600) #show ip dhcp database

DHCP enabled

# wow
subnet 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 {
option vendor-class-identifier "ArubaAP";
option vendor-encapsulated-options "192.168.1.3";
option domain-name-servers 8.8.8.8;
option routers 192.168.1.3;
range 192.168.1.1 192.168.1.2;
range 192.168.1.4 192.168.1.254;
authoritative;
}

Next, change the DNS server on that pool:

config t
ip dhcp pool wow
default-router 4.2.2.2
