Cisco AP and 3200 controller

We received some Cisco 1241 Access Points as a donation and we would like to know if they can be managed by our 3200 controller, are they compatible?
Thanks

To my knowledge the only non-Aruba branded access points that were ever supported by the controllers were several access points from Ortronics and Netgear. I do not believe you will be able to use these.

Are the 1240s autonomous or lightweight? They can be either, based on the software loaded on them. Typically, if the model number is AP-124xxxx, then it will be autonomous from the factory, where a model number LAP-124xxxx will be lightweight.

The Aruba controller can't "manage" the lightweight APs, in that Cisco's controller based architecture uses a different tunnel technology than Aruba. However, if the APs are autonomous, you could connect them to your 3200 on an untrusted port and have the Aruba controller handle user authentication and policy enforcement. It still won't manage radio settings, but you can share a captive portal or do other things like device finger-printing.

These cannot be managed by an aruba Controller, they can be managed by Airwave
