Export config from 2400 & import into 3400

Hi All,

Does anyone know if it's possible to export the running config from a 2400 controller then import it into a 3400 controller.

Both controllers will be on the same code version.
I have a copy of the running config after doing "encrypt disable".

I just want to know if this is possible or whether I'll have to recreate the config manually..

Thanks
J

Controller Migration

The latest release notes for ArubaOS 5.x has a section on controller migration, and I am paraphrasing this:

1. Make sure Source and destination Controller are on the same version of Code (you already know this).
2. Obtain activated licenses for the destination controller.
3. Obtain the flashbackup.tar.gz from the first controller by doing a backup flash and copying the file off, either via ftp or tftp
4. On the destination controller, copy the same flashbackup.tar.gz file from the source controller and do a "restore flash" on the commandline - DO NOT REBOOT, YET.
5. Install the licenses onto the new controller, either via commandline (license add ) or through the GUI.
6. Reboot the new controller
7. Console into the new controller, as you will have to straighten out what VLANs are assigned to what ports, and you may not have connectivity, as a result.

Re: Export config from 2400 & import into 3400

Thanks for the info.

I have already done that and now have console access to the 3400.

I am unable to browse to the GUI as I get redirected to the captive portal disabled page which says:

Web authentication is disabled.
Please contact the administrator for assistance

VLAN 1 is active on all 4 ports and I can ping its addresses on this VLAN but can't SSH or browse to the GUI...

OK so if I do show user on the CLI I can see that my laptop is in the logon role.. I'm not really sure why this is!

untrusted interface

From the console, make sure that the interface that you are coming in on is trusted.

config t
interface gigabitethernet 1/0
trusted

Re: Export config from 2400 & import into 3400

I made the interface trusted by doing

conf t
interface gigabitethernet
trusted
write mem

and now I have access via GUI and SSH.

Thanks for your help.
