External Captive Portal using HTTPS method not XML

Hi All,

we are configuring captive portal uinh https method, the client associate with the AP then he will be redirected to an external portal login page and after entering the username and password, the portal page send the user credentials to our controller again to authenticate the user via external Radius server.

at this moment, the proccess stoped and user gets http 404 error.

I found these lines at the conf guide:

The key point with this method (HTTPS authentication) is that the user can only authenticate themselves since the IP address of the user installed in the controller is the source IP address of the request. The https protocol ensures that the user's source address is not spoofed.

Actually, the user assoicate with the controller using private IP address and then they will be Natted to public IP address which means that the user will have different IPs will accessing the controller.

anyone has a solution, please advise.

Sanitized URL

Can you post the sanitized URL that the client is attempting to reach when the client gets that error?

Username and password

From the external captive portal instructions, it should be this:

https:///auth/loginnw.html?user=foobar&password=foobar

Instead of "name" in your string, it should be "user", as above. Please try that and report your results.
