IP Setup

Hi All,

I´m trying to setup a 620 with 5.0 and PEFNG anh have had some truoble with DHCP, we have to sites with different subnets like
Site #1
Subnet: 10.30.16.0/20
Gateway: 10.30.16.254
DHCP Server: 10.30.16.2

Site #2
Subnet: 10.70.16.0/20
Gateway: 10.70.16.254
DHCP Server: 10.70.16.2

The controller is in Site #1, I´m having 802.1x and CP working ok with clients in site #1, when I try a connection in site #2 I don´t get an IP, the sites don´t have specified VLANs for traffic so they go through the native VLAN, I´m not sure if our setup is ok or we have to set different VLANs for each site,

thanks!

Re: IP Setup

So the controller is at Site 1, what is at Site 2, an Access point connected to the controller (ala Campus AP)? If so, the network IPs you listed are those for the SSID VLAN broadcast at Site 2, or the wired network at Site 2?

Re: IP Setup

Yes, controller at Site 1 with some APs in one AP group, at Site 2 we have one AP in a different AP group, the IPs listed are in the wired network. What we want is that clients get IPs from the wired network subnet in each site

Re: IP Setup

I guess one question would be, for site 2, is the DHCP server located at Site2? Are you bridging site2 and only forwarding wireless traffic to Site1 that is destined for site1's network or are you tunnelling all wireless traffic back to site1?

Re: IP Setup

each site has it´s own DHCP Server and all traffic is tunnelled back to the controller
