NTP on Controllers

I have a controller that tells me the time is 8 hours off of current time. I have NTP set up but how do i know the controller is actually getting time from the NTP server

Re: NTP on Controllers

Denis - log into the cli and do "show ntp peer x.x.x.x", where x.x.x.x is the IP address of the NTP server you are using. Near the bottom of the result from that command, make sure packets sent and packets received are incrementing. That will tell you if you are getting NTP back and forth.

Also, since your clock is 8 hours off, are you sure you set the timezone?

Also, I just noticed that the "show ntp servers" command will have a "*" beside a server that is currently supplying time to the controller. If there is an "=" sign beside it, it is configured, but not working.

Re: NTP on Controllers

I did the ntp peer command and i watched it send packet and receive from the server. So wouldn't the controller just adjust its time to the NTP server

Re: NTP on Controllers

You need to set your time Zone .
