Only able to power up one port out 8 with POE.

Hello;

I have and Aruba800-US running 5.0.3.3.
Recently I had unplug all of my of my directly connected AP65 from the mobility controller. However; only on of the 5 access points powered up after all of them where plugged back in.

My initial thought was the other 4 ports were damaged when I unplugged the access points, or the access points had failed.

This is not the case.

The AP65 on FE1/0 has power, the rest show off,
However they are all configured for POE.

Port Status Voltage(mV) Current(mA) Power (mW)
---- ------ ----------- ----------- ----------
FE 1/0 On 48126 88 4275
FE 1/1 Off N/A N/A N/A
FE 1/2 Off N/A N/A N/A
FE 1/3 Off N/A N/A N/A
FE 1/4 Off N/A N/A N/A
FE 1/5 Off N/A N/A N/A
GE 1/8 Off N/A N/A N/A

After turning POE off on FE1/0, FE1/5 comes up.
Port Status Voltage(mV) Current(mA) Power (mW)
---- ------ ----------- ----------- ----------
FE 1/1 Off N/A N/A N/A
FE 1/2 Off N/A N/A N/A
FE 1/3 Off N/A N/A N/A
FE 1/4 Off N/A N/A N/A
FE 1/5 On 48126 52 4064
GE 1/8 Off N/A N/A N/A

When I turn POE off on FE1/5, FE1/1 came up.
Port Status Voltage(mV) Current(mA) Power (mW)
---- ------ ----------- ----------- ----------
FE 1/1 On 47998 52 4942
FE 1/2 Off N/A N/A N/A
FE 1/3 Off N/A N/A N/A
FE 1/4 Off N/A N/A N/A
GE 1/8 Off N/A N/A N/A

I am was unable to find any useful information in the logs, and reboot the controller has not impact on this behavior.

At this point I am looking for ideas as to what could be triggering this behavior.

Sounds like a power supply failure on the 800 PoE controller. You should RMA it.

Really?

I would have thought that a power supply failure would have been more fantastic than that this. I will get with the support and put it in for an RMA.

Thanks for the advice.
