Remote AP

Hi there...
I guess I am looking for a little clarification from someone who's currently using Remote AP's in the field.
From what I've read so far, it appears that Remote APs do not currently allow split traffic such as VPN and internet.
I have also read that Remote APs provide local bridging capability to access local resources such as
printers and local servers.
Can anyone confirm that, YES, while using a Remote AP to connect back to the master, you are still able to print to a printer or map a drive on the same subnet as your workstation/laptop and remote AP? I realize there will be potentially be a DNS issue, but this could be overcome with hosts files, etc.
Thanks muchly!
