Upgrade new Aruba OS 3400

Hi there,

I am a newbie and have a quick question on upgrading Aruba OS on 3400 controller.

The environment would be master and local redundant 3400 controllers with 30 APs attached.

I wonder what might be a smooth step in muti controller

- update local (non-boot) > local (boot) > master (non-boot) > master (boot)?

Kind regards,

CK

Re: Upgrade new Aruba OS 3400

- do a flashbackup off all the controllers and transfer it to your computer
- remove the backup LMS ip under the ap system profile
- you could upgrade the non-boot partition and then when you are ready you can just boot that one but you could also upgrade directly to the boot partition and then reboot

What AOS do you have install now ? What AOS you are trying to upgrade to?

Make sure you read the release notes
Thank you

Re: Upgrade new Aruba OS 3400

Thanks Victor,

I am planing upgrade from AOS 6.1.2.7 to 6.1.3.10.

What I can imagin is that when I am installing OS to primary and reboot  > all APs will fail so secondary (redundant). So it might be great to upgrade the 2nd first? How can I take the APs back to primary when they fail to 2nd note.

Regards,

CK

Re: Upgrade new Aruba OS 3400

Don't allow the failover that way you don't create a ping pong upgrade /downgrade .
I usually upgrade all my controllers at the same time .

Note: make sure you add the redundancy once you are done with the upgrade
