VLAN Pooling questions

All,

I have two questions about VLAN pooling.

To pool, is it simply adding another defined VLAN to a Virtual AP profile? If so, do the subnets have to have the same netmask?

I read in this post:

That they had to be the same netmask, but I couldn't seem to find that reiterated in the user guide for 3.4.1.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Re: VLAN Pooling questions

nope... vlan pooling simply load balances associated users to different vlans and keeps track of this... So, you won't add other vlans to your vap profile, you'll :

1-create vlans
2-craate a vlan pool.
3-add your vlans to the vlan pool
4-map your vlan pool to your vap.

That's it.

- yes, it is simple as adding another VLAN to a Virtual AP profile.
- They should be the same netmask because the algorithm assumes that all the VLANs in the virtual AP have the same number of clients.
