VLANs

I've been doing some work on our Aruba changing which networks our wireless users connect to. Makes me curious how others set up their networks. Do you have the wired and wireless users on the same VLAN or a different one?

VLANs

I usually see separate VLANs for wireless, although its not a requirement. Makes it easier to isolate and control broadcast/multicast etc. traffic that typically pollutes the wired LAN and wired clients. That type of traffic is not necessarily noticed as the wired links are 1Gbps, full duplex and switched of course.

Re: VLANs

My experience is about the same as Jason's. Typically wireless users will be located on their own wireless VLAN or VLAN pool. There are some exceptions to that, but that does tend to be the norm.
