Zebra Wireless printers

HI All

Does anyone have experience of connecting these Zebra printers to Aruba Kit
they are 802.11b label printers we can get them to work with old Cisco and DLink AP's but not Aruba.
Build an SSID and DHCP server on the Dlink the pc and printer will associate and get an IP and we can ping the printer

Do the same on an Aruba 3000 with 3.4.2 code and no matter how you configure it it wont work it will get its IP but you cannot ping it if you associate 2 PC's they can ping no problem although we have the printer getting the correct IP and connecting to the correct SSID which in our case`responds to VLAN 202.
When we show ap client status it shows it is associated, authenticated to the correct SSID but the wrong VLAN ? the management VLAN ?

Virtual AP

Do you have the Virtual AP configured with the correct VLAN? Make sure you don't have mobility enabled in the Virtual AP, either.

Zebra printers

Hi Colin yes the VAP is correct vlan 202 the management is 203 IP mobility is unchecked

The printer gets its IP from the vlan 202 scope 10.14.35.0/25 Vlan 203 is the management ip 10.14.35.128/25.

It doesnt even matter if you build a new SSID new Vlan open authentication use the internal DHCP server to issue IP the printer will get the correct address but you cannot communicate with it. but a PC has no problems.

Do the same on DLink and Cisco and it works

enable user debugging

Enable user debugging and see why the user gets into the wrong VLAN.

Zebra printers

Hi Colin

Rebooted the controller and the printer was assigned to the correct VLAN

But we were still unable to ping it or communicate with the printer after much physical abuse to the network Admin Guy :D we got our answer the default gateway was wrong!!

Re: Zebra Wireless printers

Hi,

I have a customer with wireless zebra printer in hospital network which use Aruba 6k, but 3.3.2.2x, it work well using WPA2-PSK. Once again, do you disable "vlan mobility" & "mobile ip" in virtual ap? And did u check the dhcp configuration, can u post it
