creating vlans in multi controller enviroment

I have a master and local controller; I need to create a new SSID and vlan. Do I create the vlan and vlan interface on the local controller only (all ap's boot from it) or does it need to be created on the master controller also?
Thanks

Re: creating vlans in multi controller enviroment

The definition of the WLAN that you are creating needs to have the Vlan parameter entered on the master controller. The local controller needs to have a VLAN defined individually that matches that definition, so that when it receives the definition, it can place users on that VLAN locally on that controller. Short answer, yes the VLAN needs to be created on the local controller and assigned to whatever wired ports, or trunks you want the local users to end up on.
