done small upgrade now some APs not up

Hi all, we have about 156 Remote APs on a private WAN and use 3 controllers. We went from 3.4.0.3 to 3.4.1.1 and most APs are back up, but about 10 are not. One in the office needed to have its database ref cleared out and then after rebooting it, it was fine. I have tried this for the others but only 1 other AP came back.

We use the always on so they should be ok, but they are not talking to the switch. There are no Auth errors on the switch. Any ideas??????

Remote APs

Couple suggestions:

- "show ap database long" should show the last ip address of those down APS. It should also tell if those APs are connected to the controller or if they have a problem. Do a "show datapath session table " to see if they are sending traffic to any of the controllers (what discovery method do they use to find the controller?).

- Do a "show crypto ipsec sa peer " to see if they are even trying to setup a security association if you see traffic from them.

- Setup your logging to get more info:
config t
logging level debug security subcat ike
logging level debug security process aaa
logging level debug security process authmgr

After you set that up, do a "show log security (x)" to see if anything interesting is in there about those APs that are not up.

Re: done small upgrade now some APs not up

Managed to get a few back by removing their entry using clear gap-db and rebooting the poe switch. will try that logging out soon. Ta.

gap-db

The gapdb does not have anything to do with APs coming up. It would be very strange, if it did.
