Re: issue open file server via Wireless Aruba

OK a couple of questions: Where is the file server attached? Also, there are two switches but no routers. How does the layer 3 traffic get from the APs to the controller which is on a different subnet?

Anwser :

the file server is connected to Layer3 Switch (Cisco 4500 Switch)
How does the layer 3 traffic get from the APs to the controller which is on a different subnet?
Layer 3 Switch (Cisco 4500 Switch) is routing of a different subnet
but Cisco 2950 G is layser2 in my the network

Re: issue open file server via Wireless Aruba

If you are operating on 2.4ghz (802.11bgn) and you already have quite a few clients attached to your network, your throughput will certainly drop because of:

- Interference in the 2.4ghz spectrum
- broadcast traffic on that VLAN from other cleints
- Contention from non-802.11n clients

You could:
Since you have AP93s, there is nothing you can do about the 2.4ghz spectrum.

As a start, You can:

- drop broadcasts on the Virtual AP profile of that SSID
- Configure the QOS settings in that AP-group for preferred access so that your non-802.11n clients do not degrade your 802.11n clients
