Hello!
So - IOS5 by default changes the "accept cookie" setting to "Visited". This is the same as "Never" for most our Visitors since they've never been on the visitor wifi network .
The result is just a loop in the login process. Adding information text to the login page doesn't really work since - well - people don't know how or what a cookie is...
In effect - this has stopped iPhone users from being able to access the visitor solutions without some kind of support - which we don't want to do.
Any other trick to get around this with Amigopod? Are cookies necessary and is there a way around this?
One source of information in this regard:

We have not seen this issue with Amigopod so far. Amigopod uses session cookies itself to track the state of a user and then progression through self registration processes. Is this happening on a particular release of iOS 5 or all point releases so far.
Just to be clear, are you experiencing issues using Amigopod with iOS 5 and guest access?

Yes we're experiencing issues with Amigopod self-registration + login using iPhone/iPad IOS5 default cookie setting - which is either Visited. Changed from Always in IOS4. It is not possible to complete the login if the IOS devices has set Cookies to Never or Visited (and has not previously visited the Captive Portal).
We have several installations where this is an issue.
I can create a support case if this is a new issue for you - I thought it would be known ![]()

Any update on this topic as we're implementing a new captive portal and encountering the same issue with iphones.

At this time, cookies are a required element for ClearPass Guest / Amigopod. The new 6.0 release added a cookie check to warn people before getting into an endless loop.
