COTD: Radio Channel Usage

Pradeep showed this to me and it is a great test command to show busy channel time measured as a percentage. Also, ~70% is theoretical max channel usage (because of 802.11 overhead).

The first output was for an AP with no users or traffic. The second output was taken during an iperf download test that maxed out an A radio at 22mbps.

(PL6000-M3-Local-2) #show ap debug radio-stats ap-name "00:1a:1e:c0:91:06" radio 0 advanced | include Clear
Rx Clear 1s 1
Rx Clear 4s 1
Rx Clear 64s 1

(PL6000-M3-Local-2) #show ap debug radio-stats ap-name "00:1a:1e:c0:91:00" radio 0 advanced | include Clear
Rx Clear 1s 65
Rx Clear 4s 63
Rx Clear 64s 44

PS- Radio-0 = A, Radio-1 = G.

Re: COTD: Radio Channel Usage

Thanks pretty cool, Steve!

I got a couple questions.

1) When I do "show ap debug radio-stats ap-name 00:0b:86:c3:5f:6d radio 0 advanced | include Error", I saw CRC errors.
CRC Errors 38079
PLCP Errors 193255
Decrypt Errors 2

Although wireless is half duplex in nature, should I be worry about these CRC errors?

2) With RAP-2, I believe "radio 0" is actually G radio.

Thanks much,
Eva

AP Type referenced in your sh ap debug command

Steve...what was the AP type in your maxed iperf test?

Thanks
