Find out the RSSI of your 3g card on your RAP

Have you ever wanted to find out the signal strength that your 3g-Connected RAP is seeing from the cell tower? "show ap debug system-status ap-name | include RSSI" will tell you:

(M3.arubanetworks.com) # show ap debug system-status ap-name randerson-ap70 | include RSSI
3G Uplink RSSI(in dBm) = -51

Re: Find out the RSSI of your 3g card on your RAP

Doesn't seem to work with AOS 5.0.0.1, RAP-5wn and Sierra Wireless MC8700. This combination always reports -113 dBm regardless actual signal strength.

Also, how often this information is polled from 3G module or is it on-demand ie. when I query system-status answer is fetched from 3G module with AT command?

(FIHKIWL01) #show ap debug system-status ap-name FI.128.1.1 | include RSSI
3G Uplink RSSI(in dBm) = -113

(FIHKIWL01) #show ap debug system-status ap-name FI.129.1.1 | include RSSI
3G Uplink RSSI(in dBm) = -113

(FIHKIWL01) #show ap debug system-status ap-name FI.132.1.1 | include RSSI
3G Uplink RSSI(in dBm) = -113

(FIHKIWL01) #show ap debug system-status ap-name FI.138.1.1 | include RSSI
3G Uplink RSSI(in dBm) = -113

5.0.2.1

That was a bug in the version you are using. Please upgrade to 5.0.2.1

this bug with the -113 RSSI happens on 6.0.0.1 and 6.0.1.2 as well.
