Can an Aruba 800 Mobility_Controller be converted to an 800E(MUX)?

Aruba Employee

Product and Software: This article applies to all Aruba 800 mobility controllers and ArubaOS versions.

Converting an 800 to an 800e is not supported. The difference between the 800 and the 800E is in the manufacturing record contained in the EPROM and this currently cannot be modified in the field.

However, you can configure an 800 as a MUX client and get essentially the same functionality.

To configure an Aruba 800 mobility controller as a MUX client, follow these steps:

1) Under global configuration mode:

mux-address a.b.c.d

2) Under interface:

muxport
