Controller Based WLANs

Does blacklisting the client on the master switch get pushed to the local switches?

Aruba Employee

Product and Software: This article applies to all Aruba controllers and ArubaOS 3.x.

In a master-local network setup, when a wireless device is blacklisted in the master, it is not blacklisted on all local Aruba controllers or vice versa. The blacklist triggering policies are propagated to all the controllers and any station that triggers the policy would be blacklisted only in that switch where the policy was triggered.

The database of the blacklisted client is stored on the physical memory of the switch. If you want to add a particular device to the blacklist of all the controllers, you must do that manually using the CLI command "stm add-dos-sta <mac_of_sta>".
