Heart-beat messages exchanged between master and local/standby controllers when "Centralized Image Upgrade" is enabled/initiated

QuestionIn 6.3 what are the Heart-beat messages exchanged between master and local/standby controllers when "Centralized Image Upgrade" is enabled/initiated?

In a master-local setup the controllers exchange heart beat every 10 seconds; along with this heart beat  messages "Centralized Image Upgrade" feature also exchange 3 TLV’s messages in the heart beat interval.

Below are the 3 TLVs heat beat messages,

  • TLV_MODEL_STR
  • TLV_LOCAL_UPGRADE
  • TLV_ERROR_CODE

TLV_MODEL_STR :

It’s a value set by the Local controller informing to the master about its current Image/built/built-on information’s.

TLV_LOCAL_UPGRADE;

The value is pushed by Master controller informing local controllers about the image which they needs to upgrade from the server

TLV_ERROR_CODE;

In case of  any upgrade failure this error code is set by the local/standby controllers informing master about the failure; these error messages would be logged on both the maser/local controllers.
