Question How do I allow or disallow a airgroup service on a vlan?
Environment This article applies to Aruba Mobility Controllers running ArubaOS version 6.3.0.0 and higher.

Starting from ArubaOS 6.3, AirGroup is enabled by default with services such as airprint and airplay enabled and allowed on vlans configured on controller.

Based on the network requirement, administrator would like to allow or disallow a specific airgroup service on a vlan. For eg:  In a campus environment, airplay service can be blocked in a student vlan, so that they cannot mirror iphone or ipad screen on to Apple TV.

For example, inorder to disable airplay service from vlan 101, take the below command from airgroupservice mode:

(Aruba) #configure terminal
Enter Configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z

(Aruba) (config) #airgroupservice airplay
(Aruba) (config-airgroupservice) #disallow-vlan 101
(Aruba) (config-airgroupservice) #end
(Aruba) #write memory

In order to verify if the service is disabled on a vlan, take the below show command, the disallowed-valn column should display the vlan-Ids that the service is disabled on:

(Aruba) #show airgroupservice

Following images from a controller CLI shows how to configure and verify:
