How do I configure the DHCP scope to import the DNS server from PPPoE?

Product and Software: This article applies to ArubaOS 3.1 and later.

In a branch-office deployment where an Aruba switch is configured to authenticate with the service provider using PPPoE, the DHCP scope can be configured to import DNS information from PPPoE.

CLI:

dns-server import

ezample

(wlsw2h) (config) #ip dhcp pool users
(wlsw2h) (config-dhcp)#dns-server import

WebUI:

Navigate to Configuration > Network > IP > DHCP Server > Edit DHCP Scope and select "Import from DHCP/PPPoE".

To verify the DHCP, issue the following command:

(wlsw2h) #show ip dhcp database

DHCP enabled

# users
subnet 192.168.30.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 {
        option vendor-class-identifier "ArubaAP";
        option vendor-encapsulated-options

"172.16.20.1";
        option domain-name-servers 206.13.31.12,

68.94.157.1; # From PPPoE
        option routers 192.168.30.254;
        range 192.168.30.1 192.168.30.253;
        authoritative;
}

From this output you can see that the DNS server has been imported from PPPoE.
