How do I enable timestamp feature on the Aruba controller so that a timestamp is included in the output of each show command in the CLI indicating the date and time the command was issued?

Jul 03, 2014 08:00 PM

This article explains the command to enable timestamp in the output of the show commands showing the date/time when the command was issues.

This is a new feature included in AOS version 6.2.1.0. Any version below 6.2.1.0 does not have the timestamp feature.

This article applies to all the controllers running a minimum of AOS version 6.2.1.0.

Environment : All the sample outputs in this article are from Aruba 3200XM controller running AOS version 6.2.1.0.

Use the command “clock append” enable timestamps in each show command.

Once the "clock append" command is executed, we can see the timestamp in the output of "show ap database" command highlighted in yellow.

To disable timestamp:

After it  is disabled, the timestamp cannot be seen in the "show ap database" command output any further.
