How do I generate “logs.tar” with “tech-support” information?

Product and Software: This article applies to ArubaOS 3.x and later.

To generate "logs.tar" along with "tech-support" information on the controller for TAC analysis, follow these steps from the CLI or WebUI.

From CLI

To save a snapshot of the logs into flash:

tar logs tech-support

To copy the file to another device:

1) Configure a TFTP server, which is routable from the controller interface.

2) SSH, or Telnet (if enabled), to switch from your management terminal and issue these commands:

tar logs tech-support

FTP:

copy flash: logs.tar tftp: < TFTP server IP> logs.tar

TFTP:

copy flash: logs.tar tftp: <server IP> <remote filename>

This action should save the file to the root folder of the TFTP server.

SCP:

copy flash: logs.tar scp: <server IP> <user> <remote filename>
