How do I monitor the console port of an Aruba 11n AP using an SPOE interface?

by on ‎07-05-2014 02:31 AM

Product and Software: This article applies to the Aruba 800, Aruba 2400, and LC-2G24F with SPOE hardware and Aruba 11n APs.

Legacy APs will use the spare Ethernet pairs for serial access to the console port, but if the Aruba 11n AP has a 1000Base-T interface, all four pairs are required.

You can still connect a SPOE interface to the console port of an 11n AP if you can run a second Ethernet patch to the console port of the Aruba 11n AP. Build the following patch cable and use it to patch the SPOE interface to the patch-panel. Use the patch cable and you will not need to connect a laptop to the console port.
