Question:  How do I set IPv6 parameters in an AP boot prompt?

Product and Software: This article applies to ArubaOS 6.1.

From ArubaOS 6.1, controllers and APs can communicate with IPv6 addresses. As the first phase, only campus APs with tunnel mode support IPv6. Bootup of the APs is supported only via Flash. TFTP over the network for an IPv6 AP is not supported in this version. APs must be upgraded over an IPv4 network and then they can be provisioned with IPv6 parameters.

These commands set an AP with IPv6 parameters in an AP boot prompt:

Apboot>purge
Apboot>save
Apboot> Setenv ip6addr <ipv6 address>
Apboot> Setenv ip6prefix <prefix-length>
Apboot> Setenv gateway6 <Gateway IPv6 address>
Apboot> Setenv master <master IPv6 address>
Apboot>save
Apboot>boot
