Controller Based WLANs

Question:  How do I upgrade the backup partition image of RAP-5X, RAP-2WG, and AP-80?

Product and Software: This article applies to Aruba RAP-5x, RAP-2WG, AP-80 and all ArubaOS versions that support these three types of APs.
Aruba RAP-5x, RAP-2WG, and AP-80 have two image partitions in the flash. Other APs have only one. The image on the primary partition of every AP upgrades automatically to the controller image version while the AP terminates on a controller. Or you can upgrade the image manually by using the 'apflash' command.

ap-name Reflash AP with this name
ip-addr Reflash AP at this IP address
wired-mac Reflash AP at this MAC address

To upgrade the backup partition image manually, issue the 'apflash' command with the 'backup-partition' option. For example:
#apflash ap-name TEST-AP backup-partition
You can use the 'show ap image version' command to determine:

• which ArubaOS image is running
• which ArubaOS image is in the primary partition
• which ArubaOS image is in backup partition
• what the status of the upgrade is
