How do I verify that the VoIP device is sending the correct QOS value?

Jul 01, 2014 07:25 PM

Product and Software: This article applies to ArubaOS 3.1.1.x and 3.3.2.x.

If your device supports WMM, you can verify the WMM counters with the 'show ap debug client-stats [MAC Address]' command. A sample output is shown here. Please note the WMM receive counters. Depending on the WMM receive value, the TSO DSCP value will be set.

In release 3.1.1.x, you can map the WMM/AC values to the following DSCP value. You must verify that the correct COS is configured on the core switches for the assigned DSCP value.

UP WMM AC DSCP

7 AC_VO 0x38

6 AC_VO 0x30

5 AC_VI 0x28

4 AC_VI 0x20

3 AC_BE 0x18

2 AC_BK 0x10

1 AC_BK 0x08

0 AC_BE 0x00

In release 3.3.1.x, you can assign the WMM/AC value to the DSCP value that is configured on the core switches. Here is a sample profile:
