Product and Software: This article applies to all Aruba controllers and ArubaOS versions.
Aruba supports 16 BSSIDs per radio on all single-radio APs.
Aruba supports only 8 BSSIDs per radio (AP-65, AP-105) for dual-band APs with just one Ethernet port.
Aruba supports 16 BSSIDs per radio on dual-band APs that have two Ethernet ports. The full performance implications of using the full 8 or 16 BSSIDs are not completely characterized, but it will have a significant impact. The order in which VAPs are configured does not depend on the VLAN. First all VAPs are configured on radio 0 followed by all VAPs on radio 1.Note: For good performance, Aruba recommends not using 16 VAPs, because beaconing alone uses a lot of airtime and CPU.
