How to Block IPv6 traffic initiated from guest users ?

It is not possible for the network administrator to disable IPv6 on all the guest clients. So this may lead to unwanted IPv6 traffic on our network.

Steps to block ipv6 traffic from guest users:

  • Create ACL to block IPv6 traffic.

!
ip access-list eth block-ipv6-acl
  deny 0x86dd
  permit any
!

  • Apply the same ACL to the guest user roles.

!
user-role Guest
  access-list eth block-ipv6-acl position 1
!

This can also be applied to uplink port if needed.
  • Apply the ACL to the physical uplink ports on the controller.

!
interface gigabitethernet 2/0
  ip access-group block-ipv6-acl in
!
