Controller Based WLANs

How to change the command prompt text of an Aruba Controller?
Requirement:
An Aruba Controller running 6.1 and above.

Solution:
Generally the command prompt text in the command line interface will be the "hostname" which is configured by default with the controller model or we can change the hostname which will reflect as command prompt text.

We can change the command prompt text of an Aruba Controller instead of the hostname and to use any alphanumeric character, punctuation, or symbol character.

To use spaces, plus symbols (+), question marks (?), or asterisks (*), enclose the text in quotes. We cannot alter the parentheses that surround the prompt text, or the greater-than (>) or hash (#) symbols that indicate user or enable CLI mode.

Configuration:
We can execute the below command to change the command prompt text as needed.
(ArubaMaster) #
(ArubaMaster) #show hostname
Hostname is ArubaMaster

(ArubaMaster) #
(ArubaMaster) #configure terminal
Enter Configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z

(ArubaMaster) (config) #prompt ArubaController!!
(ArubaController!!) (config) #
(ArubaController!!) (config) #exit
(ArubaController!!) #
We can execute below command to revert the command prompt text to hostname itself.
(ArubaController!!) #configure terminal
Enter Configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z

(ArubaController!!) (config) #no prompt
(ArubaMaster) (config) #
(ArubaMaster) (config) #

Verification
We can check the "hostname" and "prompt" is different as shown below.
(ArubaController!!) #
(ArubaController!!) #show running-config
Building Configuration...

version 6.5
enable secret "******"
enable bypass
prompt ArubaController!!
hostname "ArubaMaster"
clock timezone PST -8
location "MainBuilding"
controller config 1...............
