How to find out the RSSI of a 3g/4g card connected to the RAP?

Environment : This article applies to all Aruba Controller running Aruba OS 5.x and later.

 

Answer :

 

The following Remote Access Points RAP 5, RAP 3, RAP 115, RAP 108 and RAP109 supports the use of 3G/4G USB modems for internet Uplink. These modems extend client connectivity to places where an Ethernet uplink is not feasible. To find out the signal strength that your 3g/4g connected RAP is seeing from the cellular tower,
 

"show ap debug system-status ap-name <name of ap> | include RSSI" can be used to check the information.
 
Example:
 
(M3.arubanetworks.com) # show ap debug system-status ap-name randerson-ap70 | include RSSI
 
3G Uplink RSSI(in dBm) = -51
