Product and Software: This article applies to ArubaOS 3.4 and later.
In ArubaOS 3.4, ARM is available for mesh portals. This means that the mesh portal will scan channels on the same basis as ARM scans channels on campus APs, and will move to a better channel as appropriate.
If client aware is enabled, and there are clients on the mesh portal, then the mesh portal will not change to a better channel or channel pair (if 11n is used for mesh) for the mesh link, even if ARM scanning indicates a better channel is available.
However, if there are clients on mesh points, and no clients are associated to the mesh portal, the mesh portal will still move to a better channel or channel pair if one exists. This means that clients on mesh points will have to reconnect after the mesh portal and mesh points have changed to the new channel or channel pair.
To configure client aware:
rf arm-profile <profile name>
