In the output of the ?show ap debug system-status? command, what is the Tx_errors field under Interface Counters?

by on ‎07-04-2014 01:39 PM

Product and Software: This article applies to all Aruba controllers and ArubaOS 3.x and later.

The Tx_errors field counts frames dropped after excessive retries. Frames are dropped after excessive retries if an ACK for the frame is not received. The Tx_errors field count should be the same as the "Tx Dropped After Retry" value in the advanced output of the 'show ap debug radio-stats' command. This counter is accumulative since the AP has been up. It is difficult see these fields with the same value, because the RF is dynamic in nature and the values keep changing. Normally, the counter differences should be compared across time.

To view information at the per client level, use the 'show ap debug client-table ap-name' command to display the frames transmitted and frames retried for an individual associated client on one particular AP. The sum of currently associated client retries is lower than total retries from the previous show command.
