Q:

Mobility Master CLI prompt shows an asterisk (*) sign constantly . What does it mean and how to get rid of it ?

The '*' at the CLI prompt means there is crash dump on the controller. 
Run the command "tar crash" to extract the crash file and use the command "tar clean crash" to remove it
