What do the following error messages mean?
Aruba pim: <204203> <ERRS> <Aruba 192.168.1.2> Could not add IP multicast group member 192.168.10.11 to group 126.96.36.199
Aruba pim: <204221> <WARN> <Aruba 192.168.1.2> Could not allocate IP multicast group member, limit of 1024 reached.
M3 or 72xx Aruba Controllers
Aruba OS 188.8.131.52
Any Access Point.
We see a lot of the following error messages repeatedly on the Controller:
This means we are exceeding the limit of the maximum number multicast group members irrespective of the number of groups. The maximum number of multicast members that are recommended based on testing by our Engineering Team is 1024 on an M3 Controller. The same limit is increased to 8000 on a 72xx Controller.
We have a configuration option to modify the maximum members allowed per multicast group on our Controller. However the cumulative limit of members from all the groups should not exceed the platform limit (1k for M3 and 8k for 72xx).
