Q:
What are the different methods to change the configuration nodes on an ArubaMM?

A:
We can change the configuration of each node by login to the ArubaMM and then navigate to the respective nodes with help of below methods.

To get the configuration node hierarchy:
(ArubaMM) [mynode] #show configuration node-hierarchy

Default-node is "/md/BLR". Autopark is enabled.

Configuration node hierarchy
----------------------------
Config Node Type Name
----------- ---- ----
/ System
/md System
/md/BLR Group
/md/BLR/00:1a:1e:00:65:28 Device ArubaMD
/mm System
/mm/mynode System
(ArubaMM) [mynode] #

Method 1:  We can change the configuration node as similar that we do on Linux machine.
(ArubaMM) [mynode] #cd /md/BLR
(ArubaMM) [BLR] #cd /md
(ArubaMM) [md] #

Method 2: We can change the configuration node with the below command as well.
(ArubaMM) [md] #
(ArubaMM) [md] #change-config-node /mm/mynode
(ArubaMM) [mynode] #
(ArubaMM) [mynode] #change-config-node /md/BLR
(ArubaMM) [BLR] #
(ArubaMM) [BLR] #change-config-node /md
(ArubaMM) [md] #

All I see when I try this is the VMM config.  Is there some trick for seeing the running config of the node I'm supposedly in?

Hi Chris,

Probably a bit late for you but perhaps someone else can use this info too.

How to get a "show running-config" form a managed device while on the mobility master.

To show you my node-hierarchy:

show configuration node-hierarchy

Default-node is not configured. Autopark is disabled.

Configuration node hierarchy
----------------------------
Config Node Type Name
----------- ---- ----
/ System
/md System
/md/home Group
/md/Lab Group
/md/Lab/20:4c:03:11:e7:48 Device Aruba7005b
/md/Lab/20:4c:03:11:e7:60 Device Aruba7005a
/md/office Group
/mm System
/mm/mynode System

Then just do the following to see the effective config (a show run) of the md:

show configuration effective /md/Lab/20:4c:03:11:e7:48

Note that you can use the md's alias too:

show configuration effective Aruba7005a

Now you could also only want the actual commited config (so not the entire show run) of a node:

show configuration committed Aruba7005a
