Controller Based WLANs

What is the basic difference between AppRF and WCC?

Question

What is the basic difference between AppRF and WCC?

Answer

Environment: Network Administrator wants to restrict users from using certain type of application. This can be implemented through two flavors of solution - AppRF & WCC.

AppRF – does deep packet inspection of local/ Internet traffic, and detects over 1500 applications on the network.  (eg: Even MySQL, SAP etc.)

However, since so many applications are moving to the web, and the web is so dynamic in nature, we have also added Web Content Classification.  WebCC uses a cloud-based service to dynamically determine the types of websites being visited based on Web category and Wed Reputation (risk based scoring for website).
